My Thursday started with a cup of coffee of course!
After this, I headed out to meet my favorite running partners for an early morning jog before work. We did our usual 4 mile jog. Fall is in the air! It was such a cool morning and it was wonderful!
We got ready for work at Rainie’s loft. I know I have said this before but Rainie is the best hostess. Not only does she let us get ready at her loft, she makes a pot of coffee for us to sip on while we get ready for work and this morning she made me a smoothie with her new vegan protein powder and it was quite tasty!
Today I tried the Light and Fit Greek Yogurt with chocolate on top for my snack. Although it was good, I will probably not get it again. It was not as good as I hoped. I guess I was expecting more of a thick chocolate on top.
Lunch was leftover “One Pot Chicken Fajita Pasta” (www.skinnytaste.com) with a side of carrots and hummus. It was just as good today as it was the other night!
By 4:30pm I needed another snack so I grabbed some peanut butter and graham crackers and I am so glad that I did because we didn’t end up eating dinner until around 8:30!
A a few of us from work stopped by Cahaba Brewery for about an hour because they were having a charity event to raise money for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). This is also where we kicked of Katie’s birthday celebration! We played a little skeeball tournament. Katie and I were the final 2 and Katie ended up with the win!
Then we headed to The J.Clyde for Katie’s birthday dinner. Kathleen and I both got the J.Clyde burger and I got sweet potato fries as my side item with the Leffe Blonde Ale to drink.
Kathleen had a little sample of the pumpkin beer and it tasted like pumpkin pie. I tried it and it really did taste like it had pumpkin pie spice in it.
As expected, Katie had a great turn out for her birthday dinner! Everyone loves Katie!
For Katie’s birthday dessert we had “Baby Bites” from Pastry Art in Homewood.(http://www.pastryartcakes.com/baby-bites/) If you have never tried a “Baby Bite” you are missing out because they are AMAZING! I would strongly recommend "Baby Bites”. Of course, we had to let Katie blow out a candle on her birthday but we didn’t sing because Katie does not love to be the center of attention.
The birthday girl!I didn't eat a "baby bite"after dinner because Rainie and I are trying to avoid desserts for a month. We are both 2 days in on our dessert challenge and we are going strong!
When dinner was over, I headed home to get some sleep before work tomorrow.
